This is the second part of a series of articles written to assist you with achieving your goals. In the previous article, I laid the foundation for goal setting. There are a few simple exercises and steps that will help you determine what your goals actually are. Remember, when you envision your goals, it is vital you see them as if they are already met. You can rest comfortably and picture yourself as driving that new car, walking on the beach with your new partner or riding in a gondola on the watery streets of Florence. I will publish more on the art of visualization soon.

To further assist you with your goals, it is important to involve all of your senses. By this I mean the more ways you can experience your goals as already being achieved, the more likely you are to reach them. Here are a few tips I have found to be very helpful:

First, write your goals down. We discussed this in a previous article. Write them as if you have already recieved them, EX: "I am very grateful I Have My Palimino Horse. Her name is Smoky and I ride her every day through the pasture and down to the creek. When we get back to the stable, I brush her down and give her some oats for her companionship and for her keeping me safe. This or something even better is now manifesting for me." After you have reviewed this goal, sit quietly and visualize all that you have just said. With closed eyes, see yourself riding that horse through the pasture. See and feel the wind blowing through your hair, the smell of the horse, the feel of the sun on your shoulders, the sound of her hooves on the gravel. I will cover visualization in more depth in the next article.

Great! Now, to better assist you in reaching your goal, cut out and paste some pictures of what your horse will look like. Pictures of you riding her through the pasture. Pictures of you feeding her oats, brushing her, putting the bridle on her, etc. You can find pictures of these events on line. Simply download them and print them off. If you can draw, draw them. The point is to have a visual representation of your goals. This vision board, or whatever you would like to call it, should then be placed so you can see it many times during the day. You may create more than one. Have one at your desk and one in your office at home. Or on the refrigerator. The point is, you want to visit this often. The last thing, before your retire for bed at night, review your goals.

You can involve your other senses as well. Depending on what your goal is, you may test drive the car you are going to get, smell the leather, run your hand along the polished surface. Record the sound of the engine as it is starting and running so you can listen to this at another time. The point is to take in all of the sensory attributes you can and review them often during the day.

The last method I have found to be greatly helpful with attaining my goals is to record your voice and listen to it as you drift off to sleep at night. Review your goals, as if you have already achieved them, several times over on the recording. Use feeling but speak calmly as this is to be the last thing you hear before falling asleep. Your mind responds differently when hearing your own voice. You will place this information in your subconscious mind much more quickly if it is your own voice. Your mind will respond better with your own voice than if hearing anyone else.

Remember to always put a timeline to your goals. This is of supreme importance. It may also be important to work on only a few, priority, goals at a time. This way you will be better able to clearly understand what it is you are seeking. A few well defined goals are much easier to achieve.

In review, once you have determined what your goals are, there are several ways to assist you in achieving them. Use all of your senses. Make a visualization board, recordings of sound, a piece of leather upholstery to smell and touch. Involving all of your senses will better impact your subconscious mind. Also, record your voice reviewing goals and listen to them when you are in a relaxed state. The best time for this is at night just before sleep or in the morning as you awaken. Any time you are able to relax and close your eyes is a great time for this exercise.

My next article in this series is on visualization. The importance of visualizing your goals and some simple exercises in achieving this. I wish only that this information is helpful to you and I am grateful to share. Be well and blessed.

Like Crabs in a Bucket

Posted on Nov 4th, 2008 by Russ Sutton : http://www.The-Secret-To-Wealth.com Russ Sutton
Crabs
As a Registered Nurse, I was always looking at the news. Watching for problems with the economy, being anxious about the price of gas and utilities and wondering if I was going to have a job when the "In-Season" visitors left. I felt like I had to continually keep my eyes open for another Job in case the one I had failed. Not knowing if your job is secure can drive a guy to drink! Without financial security, it is difficult to look at a prosperous future. I found that I was not dreaming about what I could do or where I could go because I was stuck in the mundane world of keeping my 'shoulder to the grind stone'.
I was raised to believe that you got an education, found a career and worked your way up the ladder to a comfortable position. Once there, after 30 or so years, you could look to plan your retirement. After you retire, you are able to do all of the things you wanted to do your entire life. Hmm. Problem is, a lot of people are tired at that age and don't want to do those things any longer. Or too broke or ill to do them. I didn't see that for many years. One reason was I was too busy trying to eek out a proper living for my family to look anywhere but right in front of me.
I was stuck in the same rut I had found to be comfortable, even though it wasn't very comfortable.

Last year, a patient gave me the book, "The Secret" for a Holiday gift. I read the book, acouple of times, and then put it down. But the things I read kept mulling around in my head. I found the book and read it again. This time, I studied it. This lead me to the book store where I got more books of the same genre. I found "Think and Grow Rich" "The Power of the Subconscious Mind" and a few others. I read these over and over and the more I read the more I realized this life I had created was not the only option for me. There was more. The best part is, I am able to manifest this for myself. It is simply a change of mindset AND the actions taken for that change. I have met two kinds of persons on my new journey. Those who are merely students of Personal Development and those who USE Personal Development to prosper.

There are a lot of people, I have noticed, that read everything they can and go to the seminars that are available. They constantly study the Laws of Attraction and are very much able to recite exactly what it takes to gain abundance in life. But it stops there! They continue to study and learn but never seem to APPLY the principles in their lives. They continue on the outside looking in at the ones who have grown to know abundance by taking action. Knowing what to do is one thing, doing it quite another! To take action and use the Laws of Attraction is uncomfortable, especially at first. This means doing something that is new, out of the box. Therefore, it makes one feel uncomfortable. Actually, I have come to make myself aware if I am comfortable or not. This is one indicator I use to tell myself if I am growing or not. If I have reverted back to the default living I had known the first half of my life.

We live one of two ways. Either we take control of our lives and circumstances and dictate our futures, or we live by default. Most prefer the latter. Why? Because it is easier to follow the same path we were raised on. To live according to the outdated influence of the previous generation. To make the choice NOT to make the choice. Thereby living in default. The "What comes to us is what we deserve" mentality. Most of the persons I come in contact with prefer to sit on the bench and watch the others play. Why? Again, this is what they are used to. They, for some reason, do not believe they deserve to play to win. They are comfortable sitting on the bench as spectators because that is what they have done their entire lives. Sad!

In the past, you worked for a company for most of your life and the company retired you with a pension to keep you above water until you died. That senario has had a dramatic change, has it not? Now, it is up to you to save for your own retirement. The Company you work for is no-longer interested in keeping you happy. It uses threats of termination to get work out of you. The Company has taken back your retirement. The Company is no-longer interested in your satisfaction. Why? Because there are many others who want what you have. There is a glut of people looking for the opportunities that the company offers because of corporate growth and outsourcing. Because of continued automation, cutbacks and failures.

There are a few. A few individuals that are taking the information learned about the Law of Attraction and putting it to work. They are the few who are getting uncomfortable and making changes in their lives. They are no-longer satisfied with the mediocre life Corporate America has to offer. They understand there is a major push for change in the world marketplace. They want to control their own destiny and are willing to make the moves to do so. They are the Edison's and Ford's of the 21st Century. They are the ones who are taking the lead in this conscious revolution. They are the ones who guage their success by how UN-comfortable they are getting. By what they are DOING to create their own futures. The Ones who are knowing prosperity and abundance because of it. They are the leaders, using the Laws of Attraction to completely satisfy their desires of life. They do not take the advice of their neighbor, sitting on his couch watching TV, telling them they are wrong to change. They are the persons who do not make choices based on the suggestions of their circle of, despondent, friends and relatives.

Interesting fact: if you catch a crab and put it in a bucket, it will attempt to crawl over the top. So, you have to put a lid on the bucket. Once you catch another crab and put it with the first, you no-longer have to put a lid on the bucket. The crab who attempts to crawl out of the bucket is pulled back down by the other. All of the crabs you put in the bucket will be kept there by their fellows. Interesting huh? What does this have to do with anything? Most of us are just like those crabs. When we want to do something to leave our current set of circumstances, we are pulled back by the words and actions of our relatives and peers. When we see one of our friends doing something we think won't work, we give them our philosophy on the subject and pull them back. We offer out advice, why? Sometimes because they ask. Sometimes because we think we are preventing them from harm. Sometimes because we are comfortable with who they are and don't want that to change. Conversely, how does your family act when you attempt something unorthodox? How do your friends react when they learn of a big change you are making in your life? More often than not, they are like those crabs. They don't want you to change. Your changing would force them to look at their lives, and they don't want to do that.

So what do you do? What DO you do? I am one of those strangers I spoke of previously, so I do not want you to take any advice from me. Seek out those who you know and sincerely trust for your advice. Those persons who you KNOW will not try to hold you back, but will encourage you to move on with your passions. Encourage, supporting your courage. Those are the ones you will seek out. They are there and will manifest as soon as you are ready to recieve their assistance. Waiting for you to shake off the rest of the crabs and crawl out of the bucket. Ready to move past the student phase and become the controller of your future. The person who's passion is to live their life of choice and is willing to get uncomfortable and make the decisions and changes. Truly desire the changes you will make in your life and the Universe will provide you with all you need to achieve it. Recognize what the Universe is showing you. Do not downplay any revelations or coincidences as there is no such thing.

God Speed!

Using The Law of Attraction; I Will Show You The Way...

Posted on Nov 24th, 2008 by Russ Sutton : http://www.The-Secret-To-Wealth.com Russ Sutton
Purplecow_-_copy__183_x_275_

I have worked as a registred nurse for the last 16 years. During that time I had quite a bit of exposure to students of the Law of Attraction. I became a student as well after one of my patients gave me the book, "The Secret". Since becoming immersed in the Law of Attraction and other principles, I have noticed there are basically three types of people.

First, the majority of us, are the persons who are affected by the Law but have no actual knowledge of it. They live their lives, dare I say it, in default. Not realizing they manifest more of what they are thinking and feeling. They simply excuse their circumstances as 'fate' or 'luck' and go through life without knowing they could be more in control.

Second, are the Students of the principles of the Law of Attraction. They are forever learning, many become teachers. Athough these beautiful people know maybe more than most about the Law, I see them in financial distress or unhealthy or in bad relationships. The fact is: They are simply students, no more.

Last, there are those who are students of the Law of Attraction who actually put what they have learned to practical, everyday use. You can spot these people easily in a crowd. They are, somehow, self-confident. They don't have to be the loudest or the best dressed. They don't need the spotlight to shine out because their wholesomeness and inner beauty are like a beacon. They are not lacking for money or better health and their relationships are secure.
I was very blessed by being able to spend a couple hours with Andy Andrews (The Traveller's Gift) and his boys on the lazy river at the Altantis Resort a few weeks ago. We made it a game of spotting the three different "types" of people we came across. He showed me how to tell the difference and now I can't stop myself from doing the same at the mall or the coffee shop or wherever I go.

Last evening, I was at a friend's house and caught a look at myself in the mirror. I was standing with a group of people and it was then I realized I was looking at myself and playing the same game I had with Andy (I say "Andy" like we are best friends or something lol). Only this time, I was categorizing myself! I am very proud to say, "I passed"! I wouldn't have a year ago though. I was a student of the Law of Attraction, nothing more. Since last February, I have joined a team of like-minded individuals who work with a Company that is a leader in the Personal Development Industry. Since then, I have made it my daily routine to spend an hour every morning studying Personal Development and then a few hours sharing this business with othrs. My life is so much more than I had ever dreamed it could be. Now I have excellent health, a terrific relationship and A wonderful sense of being! This is all due to the incredible income I make with my business working with the Law of Attraction. I am, every minute, Grateful for the chance I took to move beyond student and actually harmonize with the Universe and the Law of Attraction.

It does work. I am living proof. I will show you the way.
